L'Intrigue, the Wild Magnolia of Literature

Volume 12 - Issue I

falcon

by David McLean

a bird hangs
in stasis, flight
poised in listless
heaven he electrified.

the wind holds his
wings, still, and his distances
hide the cry
he should raise
daily

in protest that life
raped him to this
action,

potent passivity
that takes us
impatiently,
and waits
that we fall from our sky,

and something die
